3 Surprising Reasons Why Veganism Need to be Affordable.

Veganism is such a trendy topic, and almost anything trending comes with a price tag, but why and how can we make veganism affordable? The fact of the matter is, it’s you and I to make it affordable because it’s really not expensive to be vegan if you know what you’re doing.

In this post, you’ll learn why veganism is the core of human life, that of the animals, and the entire planet, and that to make veganism affordable, it all begins with your decision.

3 Reasons as to why veganism needs to be Affordable

Climate change is no respecter of diets

Whether you're vegan or not, the intensity of climate change will hit both equally.

Animal wastes are polluting soils and rivers, while gas emissions by different animal industries are affecting our oxygen intake.

Did you know that 91% of Amazon Rainforest destruction is due to animal agriculture?

Farmed animals are land-hungry with over 80% of the world's farmland used for animal production.

A lot of food is also wasted as animal feeds. Additionally, growing animal feeds means more land is needed to produce beef than broccoli. And the more land is required, the more the rainy forests are being cut down.

Also, cows are the biggest emission contributors that if they were a country, they'd be the third-largest greenhouse gas emitter.

For the animals' sake

I mean, who chooses not to eat bacon and eggs or even burgers? The smell keeps calling even from your neighbour's barbeque spot.

But a vegan diet goes beyond just avoiding meat. It's a justice-seeking lifestyle for a free world, safer for both the animals, the planet, and us.

While at that, most people may find it &natural& to eat wild fish from the farmed ones, but it's not natural for dolphins, whales, and other sea animals to lose their lives after being trapped in the fishing nets.

By avoiding fish as well, you’re not only saving individuals but easing up their struggles to survive.

Our health entirely depends on it

Apart from its ability to aid weight loss, a plant-based diet has been tried and proven to prevent certain diseases associated with diet and lifestyle such as coronary heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure among others.

Statistics show that the money used to treat these diseases in the US brings us to an estimate of about 1 trillion USD that could be saved by 2050.

Veganism is quite a trendy but equally affordable for anyone willing to try. Most people choose a vegan lifestyle as a way to minimize animal cruelty; however, health and environmental factors are other important reasons to consider a plant-based diet.

Without a large scale-dietary life changes towards a vegan diet, we would have a slim chance of staying below dangerous levels of climate change, maintaining our ecosystem and escaping the lifestyle diseases and their treatment costs.
